Project Scope
  • 4 nos of berth with total length of 1510 m, berths are designed to handle max ship size of 270,000 DWT vessels with (-) 19.0 m CD draft.
  • 5 km long breakwater total rock quantity of 4.0 million MT approx.
  • Total dredging volume – 36 million cum
  • Approach channel: 19 m CD deep & 320 m wide and 3700 m long
  •  Turning circle: 19 m CD deep & 700 m dia.
  • Yard storage capacity is 3.2 million tonnes

Project Scope
  • Construction of new berth of 300m length in front of existing berth no. 7 capable of handling cape size of vessels considering future dredging up to (-) 16.1 m
  • Reclaiming waterfront area (approximately 35100 m²) in front of existing berth No 7.
  • Developing a suitable stack yard adjacent to new berth no 7.
  • Mechanized coal handling plant and machinery and equipment of required capacity including laying of tracks for equipment.
  • Installation of suitable equipment and facility of required capacity (rapid in motion wagon loading) for evacuation of coal by rails.
  • Installation of suitable equipment and facility (truck loading system) of at least 1 million tons per annum for evacuation of coal by road.
  • Dredging shall be carried out alongside of the new berth no 7 and navigational channel in the water area of approximately 41000 m². The initial required depth alongside new berth no. 7 shall be (-) 14.5m CD.

Benchmark parameters
  • BWSR boom length of 51 m which is one of the largest in port terminals in India.
  • 2 nos. of tunnel conveyors of 110 m. Each commissioned (no load). Each conveyor gets the feed from 4 nos. of vibrating feeders (750 TPH) located at the top of the tunnel.

Project Scope
  • Berth development of 280 m with draft of – 16.1 m CD. The berth will be designed to handle vessels up to -80,000 DWT.
  • Backup area development of 25 acres
  • Two nos. of mobile harbour Cranes with capacity of 1600 TPH each
  • Two nos. of mobile hoppers with 100 MT capacity each
  • Bucket wheel stacker cum reclaimer (two nos. ) – stacking @ 3500 TPH & reclaiming @ 2500 TPH
  • Wagon loading system with 3000 MT silo
  • Total conveyor of 2.1 m long with belt speed of 4.5 m /sec
